KAYA
(HELLO)

Maarakool Art was founded by Noongar Aboriginal Artist Melissa Spillman (Woods) in 2021.

Maarakool means "with the hands" in Noongar language, reflecting all of the Maarakool Art handmade creations and Mel's passion for her heritage and culture.

Mel's Woods family heritage is from Gnowangerup in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, Goreng Country.

"I am incredibly passionate about sharing heritage and culture through art".

Maarakool Art works on a range of different art projects including corporate and personal canvas art and digital commissions, painting indoor and outdoor murals, art licensing for reproduction, handmade wood products, public art, school workshops with students, and much more.
